“Navigating the Polycrisis: Mixed Methods for a Changing World”
Inclusive – Interdisciplinary – International
Welcome
Dear Colleagues, Scholars, and Friends,
It is with great pleasure and anticipation that I invite you to the Mixed Methods International Research Association (MMIRA) 2026 Global Conference, taking place on a modern Torrens University Australia campus in the beautiful city of Brisbane, Australia, in August 2026.
Brisbane, a city known for its innovation, diversity, and academic excellence, is also preparing to host the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games – a testament to its global outlook and vibrant community spirit. Against this exciting backdrop, we invite you to join us for an interdisciplinary conference that celebrates the utility of mixed methods research to address the challenges we are facing in our respective fields of inquiry and how mixed methods research (MMR) can assist us in advancing knowledge and creating meaningful impact in an increasingly complex landscape. Now more than ever, we are called upon to respond to urgent real-world problems, including environmental degradation, climate change, health disparities, social justice imperatives, and the far-reaching consequences of social movements and geopolitical conflicts.
Whether you are an experienced or early career researcher, a doctoral student, or a practitioner curious about applying mixed methods in diverse contexts, or wish to enhance your research skills, your voice and perspective are vital to this global conversation.
On behalf of the organising committee, I warmly invite you to be part of this inspiring event. Let us come together to learn, share, and shape the future of mixed methods research in the spirit of inclusive dialogue, interdisciplinary collaboration, and international exchange.
Warm regards,
Prof. Ros Cameron
